LINKIN PARK Singer Considers Other Collaborations
November 16, 2004With their collaborative EP with rapper JAY-Z, titled "Collision Course", out on Nov. 30, LINKIN PARK vocalist Chester Bennington told Launch Radio Networks that there are other artists he'd like to work with as well. "The list is long," he said. "I would really like to work with DEPECHE MODE. I think they're great. You know, working with JAY-Z, it's kinda hard to top that or even think about working with somebody else right now. You know, we've worked with probably the most important hip-hop artists and producers in the last few years, through 'Reanimation' and now doing this with JAY-Z, and it's just an honor and it's really great."
"Collision Course" features LINKIN PARK and rapper JAY-Z collaborating on "mash-ups" of each other's tunes. The CD features six mash-ups recorded by the band and JAY-Z in a studio, with LINKIN PARK MC Mike Shinoda producing. A bonus DVD documents a July 18, 2004 performance by the group and rapper at the Roxy in West Hollywood. The first single from "Collision Course" is a "mash-up" of LINKIN PARK's "Numb" and JAY-Z's "Encore".
